Understand the concept of cloud computing

You might want to know from where the cloud comes from?

So, the cloud refers to the complexity of connected telephone networks. However, the cloud is not only a commodity; it is a whole chain of many things in one place. Now, let's understand this first.

Cloud is a computing model where everything is connected through the internet: servers, storage, network, development tools, or apps. It saves companies from massive investment. Therefore, cloud computing has become the first choice of people.

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has defined the five significant characteristics of cloud computing: Internet Access, Measured Service, On-Demand Self-Service, Shared Resource Pooling, and Rapid Elasticity.

Types of cloud computing

The use of cloud computing depends on the business service they are offering. There are four different cloud computing deployment models - public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud. Also, it gets categorized services, Saas, Paas, and Iaas accordingly. So, when you want to shift to cloud computing, you must consider both factors.

How secure the cloud is!

When it comes to security, you can trust the cloud blindly as providers make security their first concern; they have to keep safety as the top priority as they are also running the business.

We can say that cloud is much more secure than your hard drive. But, companies should not overlook this factor. However, providers use powerful techniques to keep the cloud safe, and further, they have a keen focus on encryption and cloud security.

But the responsibility also comes to the cloud users; they have to keep an eye on application security by following platforms guidelines.

What is the future of the cloud?

As we know, 2020 was the darkest year that we have witnessed, and still, we haven't recovered from it. Covid-19 crisis taught many things to businesses, and one of them is accepting digitalization. When Covid started, all the companies shifted from home and continued their work. All these things get possible just because of cloud computing.

The best thing about cloud computing is that it requires less cost and fills the performance gap. As a result, cloud computing is growing immensely, and almost all big enterprises have started using it.
